The Asian Conference on Technology in the Classroom (ACTC) is now in its eighth year and is held annually alongside The Asian Conference on Language Learning (ACLL). Since 2011 more than 1400 delegates have attended this annual interdisciplinary event, which takes place in Japan in the spring.
In 2017, ACLL/ACTC attracted 171 attendees representing 30 countries – a truly international event. This diversity is an amazing comparative and contrastive resource, especially for language teachers.
The majority of ACLL/ACTC conference attendees are university faculty, with 59.6% holding an academic post. At 20% of the total registered delegates, postgraduate and doctoral students make up the next largest group of attendees. The remaining attendees come from the business sector (1.3%) and the public sector (5.8%), with 12% registered as “other”.
The conference attendees were 65.8% female and 34.2% male.
